Sales Head of SME Banking
(Jakarta Raya)
Responsibilities:
* Position purpose/Key result area expectations
o The role is primarily accountable for the delivery of SME new business growth targets set by the business through; the promotion of the company’s lending products relating to SMEs, the identification of new business opportunities, provision of excellent service to existing client and proactive relationship building with customers.
o Focus of this role will be on growing SME lending and work with Branch Managers and Relationship Managers to meet new business targets. The candidate therefore has to display a success record in this area in the Indonesian market. Proven ability to attract customers through good networking and relationships will be highly rated.
o The bank is a market leader in wealth management product sales. Apart from the east region and pilot business banking branch, the bank’s distribution network primarily focuses on retail customer, the distribution of wealth management products and funding. Sales of treasury, fx and trade finance products are growing strongly as well. To compliment these strengths and deepen its business presence in Indonesia, the bank is looking to firmly establish its commercial and SME business. The bank’s current commercial & SME business comprise of commercial lending, wholesale lending to finance companies and SME lending.
o Knowledge of the industry and what our competitors are doing in these regards are also important. We learn from our competitors, at same time however, we are to be pro active on our own to be ahead of the competitors.
o Ability to recruit good regional managers and relationship managers are added advantage and would mean that the incumbent should have the network within the industry to be able to access promising and potential candidates that can join the bank.
o The role will have a strong customer focus with experience in interacting with customers at all levels to understand their needs. The incumbent has to be an advocate of customer service internal and external.
o The role is expected to participate in the Division’s strategic and business plan exercise.
o The role is also expected to understand credit evaluation criteria and conduct credit evaluations.
o The bank is a foreign bank and has a risk management framework that involves Head office oversight and approval in the event that individual cases fall within such category. Ongoing dialogue with head office will be necessary. Ability to properly present loan proposals backed by sound judgments that are well articulated in writing is essential.
o This is a senior executive position within the company and is expected to operate with very minimum supervision.
o Key Responsibilities:
+ Responsible for the planning, development and management of the SME lending and funding within designated region.
+ Responsible for new customers acquisition directly and in closely working with branch Managers and Relationship Managers.
+ Deliver new business growth results as required.
+ Work with the Deputy Chief, Branch Manager and Relationship Managers in setting branch annual targets aligned to overall target for the region.
+ Work with the Deputy Chief in the setting of individual Manager’s performance bonus incentive plans.
+ Responsible for credit evaluation.
+ Work closely with credit management in credit evaluation and collection.
+ Ensure credit quality is maintained and that reviews of designated portfolio are current at all times.
+ Ensure compliance with credit policies and regulations.
+ Responsibility over training and development of people under your area of responsibility.
+ Contribute and participate with senior management within the division in the proposing of strategic direction and tactical annual plans of the business.
+ Champion the bank vision and values within the division.
+ Any other duties delegated by the Deputy Chief/Director.
Requirements:
+ Competencies:A graduate in business or related discipline with at least 5 years experience in banking or financial services.
+ Proven record in building and developing SME lending book
+ Sound knowledge of SME lending products and branch distribution structure operated by competitors.
+ Understand/acknowledge importance of segregation of duties between sales and credit approval.
+ Knowledge of credit policies and their applications.
+ Management experience.
+ Strong customer relationship and customer management skills
+ Communicates well both verbal and written.
+ Demonstrated marketing and business development skills
+ Proven ability to deliver results.
